Biochemical Engineer

PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an Oxford based development stage biotechnology company developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, with a focus on immunotherapeutic approaches.  At PsiOxus we are advancing our internal early and clinical stage candidates and establishing strategic partnerships with immune-oncology leaders to bring our cancer gene therapy products to patients.

The Role

As a part of our MSAT team, the jobholder will take a lead in defining and conducting the lab and plant work necessary to develop, optimise and scale up the associated upstream and downstream processing. The core function of the role is to lead and provide technical expertise on all aspects of process engineering.

The work will involve hands-on evaluation of process options and development/optimisation of processes in the laboratory and transfer of lab-scale processes to pilot plant and beyond. The role may entail supervision of junior scientists and will certainly require a close liaison with others within the team responsible for development and scale-up of the bioreactor process.

For an outstanding performer there should be the opportunity to shape the role as the company develops.
