Cancer Cell Biologist/Virologist Leadership Role

PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an expanding Oxford based biotechnology company developing innovative gene-based immuno-oncology treatments for solid tumours using our proprietary intravenously administered T-SIGn virus platform.  We currently have two products in Phase I/II clinical development and an innovative pipeline of research stage candidates.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced cancer cell biologist or virologist to join our research team, reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, to help lead the ongoing development of our oncolytic vaccine platform and deliver the next generation of cancer therapies.  The successful candidate will have extensive experience and expertise in their field, together with demonstrable success in leading projects, and will thrive in a creative, adaptable and high-paced team environment.

This role will be focused primarily on preclinical research activities from early stage virus design and discovery through to initial clinical trial application, including mechanistic studies to enhance our understanding of platform and specific clinical candidate biology as well as exploring potential new therapeutic and platform approaches. The role will also provide an excellent opportunity to develop broad experience of preclinical research and immunotherapeutic drug development, including research project leadership, in a biotech setting.

Applicants must have extensive experience and both theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of either cancer molecular cell biology or virology, together with a proven track record of successfully leading multi-disciplinary project teams. A clear and strong focus on excellent teamwork is also essential for this role.  A minimum of 10 years post-doctoral (or equivalent) experience will be required.
