PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an award winning Oxford based development stage biotechnology company developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, with a focus on immunotherapeutic approaches.  We have a first- generation oncolytic virus in Phase I/II clinical development and are developing an innovative pipeline of clinical, pre-clinical and research candidates using our proprietary T-SIGn cancer gene therapy platform technology.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Director to support the strategic planning, execution and interpretation of the clinical development programme for one or more of the company’s early stage products.

 

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing of the clinical aspects of the overall product development plan.

  • Medical monitoring of ongoing clinical trials, including emergency call rota, reviewing emerging data and protocol deviations.

  • Medical review of serious adverse event reports, ongoing signal review.

  • Contributing to selection and set up of clinical Investigator sites; liaising with clinical sites and Investigators to determine subject eligibility for trial inclusion.

  • Development of essential documents such as clinical trial protocols, Investigator Brochures, Development Safety Update Report, and Regulatory Authority submission documentation.

  • Being a key member of cross-functional project teams as medical/safety representative.

  • Working with development project leaders, clinical study managers, regulatory affairs and other project team members, providing sound and timely clinical and medical advice.

  • Ensuring appropriate medical governance is applied across clinical activities; ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice, Standard Operating Procedures and all relevant legislation and directives in all clinical trials.

  • Providing clinical and oncologic expertise to support the overall product strategy and Target Product Profile(s).

  • Interacting with external stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders, Advisory Boards and Regulatory Authorities.

  • Attending key conferences in the field to maintain knowledge.

     

Professional Experience & Qualifications

In order to be considered for this role candidates must be medically qualified, registered with the appropriate authority, and have training in oncology. At least three years’ industry experience including experience in early phase oncology trials is required. Experience in immune-oncology is strongly preferred and oncolytic virus experience is helpful but not essential.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individuals with a flexible “can do” attitude and a willingness to do whatever is required to get the job done. Candidates should be self-starters with personal drive and goal orientation, able to hit the ground running and work with minimal supervision. Being an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing is essential as is being able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders. As an SME the Company is fast paced and candidates need to be able to adapt to change and be comfortable in a small company environment.

International travel will be required.
