Senior HR Associate

This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Associate to provide high level support to our team and being responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the HR function and aspects of the business including staff retention, recruitment, employment and other procedural matters.


Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintenance of the Company HR management system.

    • Handling day-to-day routine queries from staff regarding employment and company policies – e.g. flexible working, maternity etc.

    • Assist in the preparation of HR related documentation on behalf of Line Managers and Exec Team.

    • Ensuring staff compliance with Company HR policies and procedures.

    • Proactively assisting with recruitment activities including job description development, creating advertisements, reviewing CVs, arranging interviews etc.

    • Assisting with the job offer process including employment contracts through to staff induction.    

    • Assist with the performance management and talent identification process. Work with Line Managers to support appraisal and feedback processes and objective setting.

    • Ensure a continuous improvement/innovation culture balanced with ‘fit for purpose’ process. Assist in organisational ‘best practice’ sharing and communication.

    • Attendance and note/minute taking at HR meetings, performance management meetings, disciplinary and grievance hearings as needed.

    • Assist with monthly HR reporting to senior management.

    • Manage updates and ensure relevance of Employee Handbook in line with changes in legislation and other statutory requirements.

    • Any other key activities as required to support the business.


We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates that have 3-4 years' experience of working in a similar HR Generalist or Advisor role looking for the next step in their career.  Candidates should be personable and approachable, reliable and trustworthy, and educated to at least A level (or equivalent) standard.  Applicants will be either full or part CIPD qualified and committed to maintaining their own CPD.

Previous experience of working in a biotech/pharma setting is beneficial, but not essential. Candidates must have an SME mind-set and be adaptable to change working in a fast-paced environment.  The ability to work independently and be able to build relationships with a wide range of individuals is essential, together with strong organisational and prioritisation skills to manage a diverse workload.
