Finance Planning & Analysis Manager

This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced FP&A Manager to provide high level support to the Finance Director, Finance Department and Company.  The role is to efficiently and pro-actively manage areas of responsibility that include implementation of internal financial systems, troubleshooting, monitoring, management accounting and planning.


Key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:


  • Month end close including accruals/ prepayments, review, balance sheet reconciliation and finalisation.

  • Lead monthly reviews with budget holders to review actual vs budget and re-forecast.

  • Update of monthly actuals/ reforecasting finance model (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow).

  • Preparation of monthly reporting pack for Exec Team and Board of Directors.

  • Development and tracking of key KPI’s e.g. forecast accuracy.

  • Support the finance team to cover for peak loads/ absence.

  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.

  • Raise and maintain project trackers.

  • Supplier financial assessments.

  • Ad hoc project management of financial initiatives.

  • Assist with Annual Statutory audit.

  • Data room updates as required.

  • Any other key activities, as delegated, required to support the scientific team or company more broadly.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated finance professional with 2-3 years’ experience of working in a similar role.  Applicants must have formal accounting qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW) and/or a finance degree and IFRS and GAAP experience.  Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting is beneficial, but not essential.  Candidates must have an SME mind-set, have the ability to work independently and be able to build relationships with a wide range of individuals.  An exceptional eye for detail/accuracy, excellent knowledge of Sage and MS Office is essential, together with a flexible “can do” attitude and a common sense approach.
