Outsourcing Manager

PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an award winning Oxford based development stage biotechnology company developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, with a focus on immunotherapeutic approaches.  We have a first- generation oncolytic virus in Phase I/II clinical development and are developing an innovative pipeline of clinical, pre-clinical and research candidates using our proprietary T-SIGn cancer gene therapy platform technology.

This is an exciting new role required to provide a high level of outsourcing support to the VP of Outsourcing, managing areas of responsibility and advising and supporting internal staff on outsourcing matters. The Outsourcing Manager will to prepare, negotiate and maintain contracts in compliance with outsourcing and procurement policies, procedures and SOPS, ensuring best value and appropriate protections for PsiOxus and be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records and inspection ready contract documentation with respect to PsiOxus outsourced services.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and negotiate contracts in support of clinical, regulatory, CMC, research and operations functions, including work orders, change orders, material transfer agreements, CDAs, consultancy agreements, contract letters etc.

  • Provide outsourcing expertise to the operational teams, contributing to the preparation of RFPs and leading the vendor selection process for PsiOxus outsourced projects.

  • Work with the VP of Outsourcing and PsiOxus Quality Associates to ensure that all contracts are inspection ready and meet current regulatory requirements.

  • Work with the VP of Outsourcing to ensure best procurement and contracting practices are adopted and implemented throughout the organisation; educating, advising and supporting internal staff as required.

  • Liaise closely with other operational colleagues, including the Legal Associate, Quality, IT and Finance, to ensure contracts and processes are consistent with and outsourcing contributes to development of wider PsiOxus processes, SOPs and policies.

  • Work closely with the VP of Outsourcing to update and maintain fit for purpose outsourcing process, legal templates, SOPs and policies.

  • Maintain, track and monitor outsourced contracts in areas of responsibility, with notification when new activity is required eg renewals, expiries etc.  Ensure accurate tracking records.

  • Establish, maintain and manage an efficient and effective outsourcing planning system to identify upcoming outsourcing requests, new vendor requirements etc.

  • Prepare outsourcing management reports to support monitoring and management of outsourced projects as required.

In order to be considered for this role candidates must have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a similar role with demonstrable clinical trials experience. Experience of working in clinical operations or contract manufacturing will also be considered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individual with a flexible “can do” attitude. You must have a clear team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently as and when required.  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential together with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals.  An exceptional eye for detail/accuracy is required and a good working knowledge of the MS Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint is essential.
